Formed in 2023 through NewView Oklahoma, the Lookouts began with little experience and no idea of what we were truly getting ourselves into. We had three things going for us:
In our first World Series (2023), we finished 15th with a record of 3 wins and five losses. In 2024, we improved to 12th, two wins and five losses. Then came 2025—where we matched our total wins from the previous two years combined, finishing 6th in the world with a record of five wins and four losses!
These are players who are related to NewView:
“I keep hearing how good the Comets are. Well, guess what? SO ARE WE!!!
– Tim Hibner #0, Hall of Fame pitcher and four time World Series Champion
In our first game, we faced the Chicago Comets—a powerhouse in the National Beep Baseball Association. The Lookouts stunned them with an 18–11 victory, the biggest win in team history. We ended the day 2 and 1.
We dropped a close one to the Boston Renegades. From here, it was do-or-die. One more loss, and we'd go home.
This was our only game that day.
“Don’t let us win this first game, ’cause we ain’t losing the next two.”
– Kyle Ivy #34
Up at 4:00 AM for a 6:30 AM start time, the Lookouts came out swinging! A fast start led to a 15–8 victory. Minimal celebration—our sights were already set on Austin.
“Why not us?!”
Leading up to this game, the Lookouts had faced the Hawks five times since 2023—amounting to five losses. This time, we led by two runs heading into the 6th (last inning). Two quick putouts, one run allowed, and then we slammed the door for a 6–5 win.
Our new, biggest win, in team history.
“LET’S DO SOMETHING SPECIAL.”
– Mark Ivy #24
Hot, tired, and running on adrenaline, we chased a historic 3–0 Thursday. Hibner delivered the first pitch, and we powered through for a 15–10 win.
We’ll never forget that perfect Thursday.
“Running on Empty, Running Blind”
– Jackson Browne
Gateway Archers & Chicago Comets:
Fatigue set in. We fell to the 2024 runner-up, Archers, then dropped a 1-run heartbreaker to the Comets, finishing 6th overall. In just four days, we played nine games - final record: 5–4.
When the last out was recorded, the emotions hit—not just from the loss, but from reflecting on the road that got us there. Starting a beep baseball team is hard. Becoming a good one is even harder.
We lost a key player in the top of the 1st inning on Tuesday morning due to injury. From that moment on, every remaining player stepped up. We battled forward with just eight players, yet all nine on the roster recorded a run or a putout. In other words, everyone contributed.
Our season goal was a top-10 finish, and we achieved it. Though, the true victory was our culture—organically built by nine battle-tested blind ballplayers who found a way to win.
